Room 4 class photo orders

The order form went home with your child on Friday. We need to complete the order promptly to ensure their delivery before the end of the term and all orders are due at the school office before Thursday Dec 5. Thank you

Swimming at St Albans School Pool

We are booked everyday at the school pool, except Thursday this week. Children will learn to manage changing in and out of their togs and be responsible for all of their belongings. Please support your child by making sure everything is named. Children will be involved in some fun water activities. All children will easily be able to touch the bottom of the pool. Our swimming programme is based on the school values of fun, community and respect. We are very fortunate to have our school pool up and running.

We wear our own clothes on Wednesday

The children in Room 4 need to wear mufti on Wednesday as we are heading to the Christchurch School of Gymnastics. Jeans, skirts and dresses are not suitable but leggings, shorts, t-shirts and sweatshirts are ideal . We are looking forward to being active and trying out some new activities.

Parent help

Pinned on the parent notice board are some tasks. They involve stapling or cutting out. This is a great way to help Room 4 if you find it hard to come in to help or find it hard to help on class trips etc...
Many thanks

Phonics, Phonics, Phonics

Our phonics programme is well underway. It's great to see families supporting their child's learning.
The phonics books go home in your child's reading folder every day except Fridays. Usually Monday and Wednesday evenings you will just see the worksheet your child has worked on in class during our reading time. It is fantastic if you have time to learn the action with your child and reinforce the learning from earlier in the day. You should be be very proud of your child because they are using the glue sticks and gluing these in their books by themselves. It is great to see that they are managing themselves and helping others who are new to Room 4.
On Tuesday and Thursday's you should see the slip of paper in your child's book explaining our focus sound and the prompt  to find things starting with our focus phoneme.
I try and give motivating feedback or place a sticker in your child's book but sometimes this is not always possible.
Have fun :)

Book Week

We can dress up as our favorite book character on Monday August 26. It would be wonderful if your child could bring the book along to school that they feature in.

A book fair is also going to set up in Room 1. There will be be lots of wonderful new books for sale.

Our Library Day is Tuesday

Room 4 is nearly ready

Mrs. Robertson is looking forward to teaching the new entrant class at St Albans School. Some children have started their school visits and we look forward to more children visiting next month.

We welcome children visiting the school on the weekends. This is a great opportunity to explore the school with family. Children might want to see if they can operate the drinking fountain independently during their visit, you never know when that drink bottle might be left at home for the day.
